GTX 1660 vs 1660 Super vs 1660 TI | Which one to choose?

Today we’ll check out one of Nvidia’s best graphics cards for price-performance and budget. Take a look at the review of the 1660 line with benchmark tests in 2020 games. With that, we’ll find out which one is the best choice for you to play in 1080p in ultra settings.

The Gtx 1660 S will be directly compared to the 1660 vanilla and the 1660 Ti. With that, we will find out if Gddr5 to Gddr6 brings a lot of performance.

GDDR 6

Let’s begin with the memory type. Basically, the main difference between the Gtx 1660 and the Gtx 1660 Super is the type of memory, going from Gddr5 to Gddr6. With the increase in speed, higher bandwidth is made possible: GTX 1660 = 192 Gb/s, GTX 1660 TI = 288 Gb/s, GTX 1660 Super = 336 Gb/s.

In fact, 336 Gb/s is the same as an RTX 2060, which is said to be low high-end, as the 1660 Super is a mid-end card with the same bandwidth. Remembering that 1660 Ti also owns the Gddr6, but with lower bandwidth.

Prices

As you can see, the price difference between the 1660 Super and the 1660 TI is very large. Whereas the performance between these two is pretty much the same.

Speaking of which, let’s go to benchmark testings, to see which one is worth getting in 2020.

Benchmark tests

Tests will be done in games. All in Full HD in maximum graphics quality, using an i9 10980XE and 32Gb of ram, so the performance limitation will be exclusively the card.

Which one to choose?

As we saw above, the performance differences between the 1660 S and the 1660 TI is relatively low. Even so, the price difference between the two is very high.

All things considered, about 1660 S x the 1660 vanilla, the 1660 S stands out, it is a little more expensive, but even so, the memory type changes are accompanied by a lot of performance and speed. All this without increasing too much the price between the two.

Finally, the 1660 Super is recommended to get if you want to play in 1080p with all graphics at maximum. Also, in some cases, the 1660 Super can handle the 1440p, at least slightly decreasing the graphics quality.
